DataAnalysisLite serves as the iPhone variant of the DataAnalysis application designed for iPad, providing a versatile tool for plotting and fitting data expressed as x, y pairs. This application is suitable for both academic users and industry professionals, offering efficient capabilities for quick data analysis through curve fitting and value prediction based on established standards. It also excels in kinetic data evaluation, including enzyme kinetics.

The application facilitates data entry through direct keyboard input or by importing from various sources such as email or other applications in formats including text files (.txt) or comma-separated value files (.csv). It supports seamless integration with cloud storage solutions like Dropbox and Google Drive for easy data management.

Upon data entry, users can manipulate their datasets by averaging, baseline correcting, or normalizing prior to visualization. Plotting is straightforward; a single press of the Plot button generates a graph with autoscaled axes, which can be immediately incorporated into documentation or presentations. Users have numerous customization options available for their graphs, allowing adjustments to axes, labels, titles, and visual styles including symbols and color schemes.

The application offers non-linear regression capabilities, enabling users to fit their data to various mathematical functions ranging from linear equations to higher-order polynomials and exponential formats. Complex models applicable to radioactive decay, enzyme kinetics, and first- or second-order chemical reactions can also be utilized. Notably, overlays of fitted curves on datasets can be customized regarding line width, type, color, and thickness.

Additionally, DataAnalysisLite features Lowess Regression (LOcal Weighted regrESSion), a non-parametric fitting method that does not necessitate a predetermined mathematical function. This flexibility makes it particularly valuable for analyzing datasets with significant scatter, applicable across diverse fields from political polling to astrophysics.

For analytical purposes, the application automates the use of fitted data as standard curves to deduce unknown values. Output can be easily shared in various formats via email or uploaded to several applications such as Dropbox, Google Drive, and Evernote. Graphical outputs in PDF format are editable with programs like Adobe Illustrator™ and AutoDesk Graphic™.
